Question : How Do I Shop On Your Website? How Do I Place An Order?
Answer : Shopping on Almirah is easy, fun and addictive.
- Browse the website to find what you'd like to purchase.
- Once you have found a product you like, select your size and click on the 'ADD TO SHOPPING BASKET' button next to each product.
- You can use the 'REMOVE FROM BASKET' link to delete items from your shopping BASKET as well.
- Click on 'PROCEED TO PURCHASE' to complete your order.
Question : Is It Possible For Me To Track My Order?
Answer : Once the order has been handed over to the courier agency, Almirah will email you a tracking code, along with the website link on which will allow you to monitor the status of your shipment. The tracking code may take 24 business hours to activate on the tracking website.
Question : Where Are You Based?
Answer : We are based out of India, and all products are shipped from India.
Question : How Are You Connected To Flying Geese Quilts?
Answer : Almirah is an e-commerce venture of Flying Geese Quilts.
Question : Where Can I Buy Almirah Products In India?
Answer : We retail our products from our three stores in New Delhi, Bangaluru & Mumbai. For further details on our stores in India, please click Stores on the bar above. We also offer online sales through our Almirah website at www.thealmirah.com
Question : Do I Need To Be A Member To Shop On Your Site?
Answer : Yes, you need to register as a member to shop on Almirah and complete your transaction. It helps us to know you better!


Question : What Payment Options Can I Use?
Answer : For your shopping ease, Almirah offers several payment options that are absolutely safe and secure. You can chose to pay with a credit or debit card, which can be a Mastercard, Maestro, Visa or Amex card, using our secure payment gateway. We also provide Cash on Delivery option for our Indian customers.
Question : Do You Have Cash On Delivery Option?
Answer : Yes, we do have Cash on Delivery for our orders placed in India.
Question : Will I Get A Full Refund If I Return A Product?
Answer : Almirah will refund the paid amount in full only if the order delivered is damaged (subject to our discretion) or an incorrect order is delivered. No refund will be given by Almirah if the order has been delivered with the color and size as selected by the customer while placing the order. In the event of the error having occurred on the part of Almirah, the product can be replaced or the amount can be refunded at the sole discretion of Almirah.
Question : How Can I Cancel My Order?
Answer : Once you confirm payment of your order, your order cannot be changed or cancelled. You will need to contact us at feedback@thealmirah.com for a "Request for Cancellation" in the subject with your order details. In case we have already processed your order the cancellation will not be possible. Cancellations are solely at the discretion of Almirah.
Question : Are there Gift Vouchers Available?
Answer : Yes we have Gift Vouchers available both at our stores as well as on our website.
Question : Is there A Gift Wrap Option? Can I Include A Gift Message As Well?
Answer : Yes, we can wrap your gifts and have them send to the recipient mentioned in the shipping address. We have gift wrap option for most items except pillow shams, quilts and cushions that come in a fabric bag. A gift message can be attached with your purchase.


Question : What if an item is out of stock?
Answer : We make every effort to keep all products in stock. However, there may be times when unexpected demands exceed our supply. You may write to us at feedback@thealmirah.com for an enquiry about a product which is not in stock and we will inform you through an email. In the future, we hope to be able to notify you when an out of stock item becomes available which would allow you to place a new order for this product.
Question : Are All Your Products Genuine?
Answer : We guarantee that all products sold by us are genuine. All products sold will bear the original tag and label of Almirah to assure its authenticity.
Question : Are The Colors Or Products Shown On The Website Accurate?
Answer : We take great pains in ensuring that we photograph all our products under standard lighting conditions so that the product image you see is as close to the product. However, there may be minor variations in the color of the fabric, dyes, prints or embroideries of the product image you see on your monitor and the actual product. The details of the products or product specifications (weight, colour, handwork details, size, etc.) as mentioned on Almirah are only approximate values. The Use of Your Information is in compliance with these Terms of Use and applicable laws.

Partial Refunds

In case of multiple products being ordered, and if for any reason, Almirah is unable to deliver a certain product/s, the customer shall be given a choice to select an alternate product. However, in case the customer does not wish to select any alternate product/s, Almirah shall agree to either provide store credit to be used for future purchases. We take extra precautions to ensure each piece is crafted, packaged and delivered with care. Minor variations in prints, embroideries, fabric are all characteristics of hand printed and hand made products. The decision to provide a refund lies at the sole discretion of Almirah.

Question : How Do I Return/Exchange A Product?
Answer : Almirah reserves the right to reject exchanges and returns. In case a product ordered is damaged or has a manufacturing defect or a wrong product has been delivered, we would request you to please take a photograph of the damaged product/s and contact our customer service team at feedback@thealmirah.com within 24 hours of receiving the order at the shipping address. We will get back within 2-3 working days with instructions but note there is no exchange on bedding, accessories, sale/discounted items or personalized/customized items. Please retain all packaging materials, original invoice and the product/s in condition received (unused, with tag, unwashed etc.) until a set of instructions from Almirah regarding the same is received.
Question : Are there different rules of payment, delivery and exchanges during COVID-19?
Answer : During this time, to promote contact less delivery and safeguard our staff, we have suspended COD payment and are restricting exchanges due to the current environment. Delivery and shipping is also subject to delay due to the availability of our delivery partners and the restrictions in place. These will resume once things normalize completely and we will keep update our policy as the situation changes.

Shipping & Delivery

Shipment Time:

We take an approximate delivery time of 5 working days to dispatch your order. However these are merely indicative and our endeavour will be to get the order delivered to you as fast as possible. You acknowledge that the shipment and delivery of your order depends on a variety of factors including the receipt of the payment, the availability of the product, the time taken by the courier or shipping service provider and that Almirah makes no guarantees in respect of the same and shall not be liable for the same. Shipping charges will be applicable for each order.


In some cases, some items, depending on quantities ordered or in case the item ordered is under production, may take longer to process. In such cases, if we forsee any delays, our customer service team will update you and make every effort to process your order as quickly as possible.

Transit Risk:

All orders that may dispatched by thealmirah.com are fully insured at no extra cost to the customers.

Shipment Tracking :
Once the order has been handed to the courier agency, thealmirah.com will email you the tracking code, along with the website link on which you can monitor and check the status of your order.

Shipping Address :
Almirah does not deliver to P.O. Box or Drop Box addresses. Customers are requested to provide full addresses with the postal code.
Almirah will not be liable for delays resulting from incomplete address listings. In such cases the customer will have to bear the reshipping charges.

Change of Shipping Address:

Once we receive your order, you have approximately 3 working days to change your shipping address for an order which you have already placed. We will try to accommodate your request if we still have the package in our possession. Please contact us (feedback@almirah.com) with your requested change and we will send you an email reply to confirm if we were able to make the change. In case we have already handed your order over to the shipping company then we will be unable to make any shipping address changes.

Please note that we will not be able to change the address of an order placed for India delivery to International delivery or visa versa since the pricing for India and international deliveries is different from each other.

Domestic Shipping:
Interstate shipping requires some additional duties and taxes which are levied once a shipment reaches your state. All custom duties and taxes are borne by the customer.
The exact customs duty/tax payable can be checked with our customer service team upon request.

International Shipping:

All our orders will be shipped internationally from New Delhi, India. Stay connected - and soon we will be shipping globally to you. Due to the nature of international shipping, at times a customer may have to pay additional import duties and taxes that are levied once a shipment reaches your country. We are unable to calculate when and how much these infrequent customs duty charges will be levied. In the case where additional customs charges are assessed, you will be responsible for paying these additional fees which our courier company will help clear for you.

Delay in Delivery:

Without prejudice to any of the foregoing, if there is a delay in delivery caused due to any natural calamity, public holiday or any other unforeseen circumstance, Almirah shall not refund, return, replace or exchange any order.
In case the delay in shipping is caused due to unavailability of stock Almirah shall inform you by email and you will be able to choose an alternate product, opt for store credit or receive a refund for that product.

Delivery of Multiple Products :
In case you purchase multiple products in one order, all products will be dispatched together. Unless, you have opted for customisation, in which case, the order will be dispatched only once the customisation is done.

All products shall be shipped from India.
Billing Address refers to the address where a customer receives credit card bills.
Shipping address refers to the address where the order has to be delivered.

The charges are ungovernable and they differ from country to country according to the local rules and regulations.


In an attempt to maintain the highest standards of quality all the fabric procurement, finishing, checking, and packaging is done at in New Delhi. Minor variations in color, texture and finish are characteristic of handmade items through the processes of dyeing, weaving, printing and embroidery. We also use both vegetable dyes and commercial dyes with the goal of minimizing our impact on the environment. Please follow our wash care instructions for longevity of your products.


For cotton, please machine wash cold on gentle cycle and wash items with like colors. Turn your clothes inside out, especially wash dark colors seprately. Some of our colours may require to be washed separately the first few times. We do not recommend tumble dry, and suggest line drying the items when still damp. Cotton becomes softer with each wash, making it a wonderful fabric fit for for all seasons.

All our items come pre-washed, however depending on how you care for the product, additional shrinkage ranges from 5-7% for printed fabrics and 7-10% for woven products although it is not necessary.


Iron warm, while damp. If the item has dried, use a spray bottle to dampen the fabric. Please dry-clean only and use a warm iron on low or medium.


Indigo is a natural dyeing process which has been practiced in India for centuries. Since it does not chemically bond to the fabric, bleeding is characteristic of this dye. We recommend that these products be washed by hand separately in cold water and dried in the shade.
